Reports To : Director of Grantmaking

Job Summary

The Grants Associate provides a wide range of administrative and analytical support for the Foundation’s Grants Team. This position helps to facilitate grantmaking from inquiries to reporting, develops and maintains relationships with grantees, serves as a liaison between internal teams, and supports planning and implementation of special programs, projects, and events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and provide direction to grant seeking entities.
  • Help to maintain information in grants system.
  • Review and prepare grant request summaries and reports for staff and board.
  • Perform due diligence on requests and assist with grantee follow-up.
  • Monitor reporting schedules and requirements to ensure consistent information.
  • Assist Grant Manager by providing technical support for users of grants and board communications systems.
  • Track and monitor projects and programs, research and synthesize information related to grantmaking activities and areas of interest.
  • Coordinate with the Communications Officer to maintain grant related information for internal and external audiences.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation for meetings, events, and travel.
  • Participate and take notes during calls, meetings, and site visits as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
  • Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 2 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties and responsibilities).
  • Strong technology skills - ability to use multiple software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite, and general office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, phone system).
  • Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, or Data Visualization skills and experience preferred – must have the ability to format and visually present information.
  • Highly professional and show discretion dealing with confidential information.
  • Flexible with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when the need arises.
  • Receptive to feedback.
  • Enjoy and excel at working as part of a team.
  • Passion for the Foundation’s mission.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in a dynamic and professional setting.
  • Tracks progress, troubleshoots problems and supports grantee success.
  • Work Environment

    Work is primarily conducted in-person in a typical office environment between the hours of

    8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Tasks involve continuous sitting and constant use of hand / finger dexterity, hearing, and typing. Time may also be spent out in the community meeting with organizations and exploring topics of interest.
