Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to work for a solo practitioner. The ideal candidate will support the attorney in various aspects of legal work, particularly in preparing and working guardianship and probate cases. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties
- Assist attorney in probate, guardianship, and miscellaneous cases, including legal document preparation and filing in the eportal.
- Manage legal case files and ensure all documents are organized and accessible.
- Minimal research skills required
- Perform scheduling, meetings, and managing calendars.
- Meet with clients to prepare intake sheets
- Must be proficient in Word.
Qualifications
- Experience in a law office environment, preferably with experienc in probate and guardianship.
- Experieince in preparing legal documents and filing in the eportal.
- Strong skills in legal case management and project management.
- Proficient in Word
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication during client interviews.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing tasks efficiently.
Attorney and legal assistant work together closely as attorney is a solo practitioner. A 1099 independent contractor desired. No benefits offered. Flexibility on schedule and hours.. Attorney shares office with another attorney and her staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
