Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated professional to gather and analyze product failure and technical information. The role involves producing technical reports and miss-assembly documentation aimed at enhancing product quality. You will conduct surveys, perform testing on products and components, and support headquarters in addressing quality issues. Additionally, you will evaluate new products as needed and provide technical support to the Technical Service Manager and other departments to meet operational goals. Your reports will play a critical role in addressing product quality and market concerns.
Key Responsibilities
• Compile and submit technical reports, including improper assembly and failure reports, to SMC Japan, utilizing data from field analyses, surveys, and interactions with technical personnel, dealers, and customers.
• Inspect and evaluate returned warranty parts, conducting necessary tests and reporting findings to SMC Japan.
• Investigate and resolve significant technical issues through field analysis, including testing and evaluating solutions.
• Coordinate modifications for new products as necessary.
• Assist Suzuki Service Department personnel in troubleshooting and improving product quality, providing them with updates on product modifications.
• Analyze warranty data and report failures to SMC and contract vendors; coordinate the return of failed parts from dealers for analysis.
• Collaborate with the Spare Parts and Accessory Department on the development and testing of new marine accessories.
• Support the OEM Group in resolving technical issues that could impact sales.
• Assist in the evaluation and testing of new products, compiling competitive information for SMC, and developing customer surveys for marketing insights and quality improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Representative for a manufacturer or distributor, or as a Marine Technician at the dealer level.
• High school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a focus on Marine Technology and Business Management.
• Formal training/certification from a major manufacturer.
