Visual Basic Developer
Location: Chicago, IL
6 months Contract
Hybrid Position
The Software Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting existing applications used in our manufacturing, shipping, and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VB.Net, C#, .Net, SQL Server, and working with Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support existing applications used in manufacturing, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements to existing applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Ensure applications are optimized for performance, security, and scalability.
- Maintain and update documentation for applications and processes.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in software development and application support.
- Proficiency in VB (Visual Basic), VB.Net, C# programming.
- Strong experience with C# and .Net framework.
- Solid understanding of SQL Server and database management.
- Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the manufacturing industry or with manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
