Job Title: Accountant/Bookkeeper – Property Management
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our property management team. This role is responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management accounting, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in financial software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank statements, and escrow accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Process rent payments, security deposits, and owner disbursements.
- Track and allocate expenses for multiple properties.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for property operations.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal financial regulations, including tax filings.
- Coordinate with property managers, vendors, and tenants regarding financial matters.
- Utilize property management and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in bookkeeping/accounting, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, AppFolio, or similar property management accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage financial operations across multiple properties.
