Swahili Coast is a North Carolina based company working in partnership with artisan co-operatives in East Africa. We have locations in downtown Asheville and in downtown Wilmington. We are hiring retail associates for an immediate start.
We are seeking team members ready to tell the story of our partner co-operatives in East Africa and their ethically made products!
Retail or sales experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for retail associates that are sales oriented, with excellent communication and sales skills.

We are a company built on fair trade principles that does direct trade with our artisan partners in Tanzania and Kenya. Successful candidates will have communication skills to tell our brand story, and sales skills to close sales.
Starting wage offered is $15 per hour GENEROUS commissions for sales (base hourly wage is depending on experience). Some of our staff members average over $20/hr with strong sales. Looking for part-time or seasonal applicants at this point, but opportunities may open up for full-time work. We're flexible and we're growing, and we'd love to work with folks who want to grow with us.
We offer flexible scheduling , but daytime weekend availability for this position is a must. This is a great part-time job for students or teachers looking to pick something up for the summer, and for independent artists and crafters as well!
