As Needed Technical Assistant (ANTA)
Reports to: Director of the Swain Arts Center
Purpose
This role will provide support to the Swain Art Center Director during school and community events when needed. In the absence of the Director, this role may also assume the duties and responsibilities of the Director during the event.
Essential Job Functions
The Technical Assistant must possess a comprehensive understanding of the technical operation of all systems within the Swain Arts Center. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Sound System: Proficiency in the use of microphones, sound boards, music playback equipment, etc.
- Video Projection: Front and rear projections.
- Lighting Control System: Knowledge of lighting control systems and the ability to troubleshoot basic lighting issues.
- Theatrical Fly System: Safe and proficient operation of the theatrical fly system.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Familiarity with the standard operating procedures of both the Swain Arts Center and Swain County Schools.
Minimum Training and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years experience working in a theatrical technical setting
- Reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to work collaboratively;
- Ability to set goals and work independently;
- Willingness to continue to learn as a professional.
Employment Terms
Employment is on an as needed basis; non-exempt hourly position; no benefits; hours will vary depending on need; $15.00 per hour.
