Field Loss Control Specialist Position
Overview:
This position is responsible for the field contact with clients and prospective clients of Swamp Fox
Agency (SFA), Forestry Insurance Company of the SouthEast (FICoSE) and Alirics General Insurance
Services (ALIRICS). This position is the focal point for the identification of logger’s fleet and woods operations being in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety, OSHA and FICoSE binding criteria. This position will write a report on observations of the operations and make recommendations for improvement.
Duties:
This position requires traveling to meet with clients three to four days a week. Also, occasional travel to attend industry conferences both in South Carolina and other states. This travel may from time to time require overnight stays.
The field loss control specialist will be in the office one to two times per week. Time in the office is for report writing and scheduling new appointments.
Duties for this position to include but not limited to are listed below.
- Prior to meeting with accounts become familiar with CAB report.
- Review of GPS account performance and drivers outside of speed expectations o Once at the account woods observation identify, meet with drivers not meeting speed or pre trip qualifications o Report on drivers’ attitude towards meeting company expectations
- Review of Company handbook and be prepared to discuss parts with employees on the actual call.
- Review the Conditions to Binding coverage and confirm those conditions are being met.
- Observe client’s actual operations.
- Assist with building and designing driver training courses.
- Instruct and lead the driver training courses at the clients location.
- Recommendations are for following Federal and State requirements for in woods operations and driver operations, an example of some are listed below:
*Is PPE worn
* Is woods equipment maintained to be brush free?
* Are field fuel tanks properly secured?
*Do drivers leave tractor while being loaded?
*Observe how loads are secured.
*Observe if drivers are conducting field review of trailer conditions.
*Are trailer lights clean and visible?
*Identify crew supervisors and their experience/knowledge of supervising a crew.
*Shadow drivers to observe and report driving behavior.
- The Specialist will make recommendations on improvements in the operations of the client. Recommendations will be characterized as Imperative, Important and Desirable.
- Review of typical claims and the injuries they caused and observe client conditions that can be corrected to prevent other accidents/injures.
- Review driver turnover rate and identify drivers if they have attended the Alirics driver training session.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
