What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Technician position at Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery?
The main accountability of the Facilities Technician is to work with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming space for staff and customers alike with an organized and efficient system of facilities, equipment and tool management. The Facilities Technician will work on a variety of tasks that will help with the upkeep of all shared and public spaces on SRCG grounds and across all departments according to SCDHEC and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists Facilities department with maintenance on heating, cooling, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, grounds, carpentry, painting, fire alarms, plumbing, building exteriors, etc.
- Assists in identifying needed repairs or replacements in public areas, within departments, landscaping, signage, parking area, fences, etc.
- Completes preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule and training for refrigeration, mechanical, and HVAC equipment as assigned
- Assists with assembling new equipment, furniture, shelves, etc.
- Performs landscaping duties for outdoor space including watering plants, pulling weeds, and hauling brush and limbs
- Keeps outside areas free of debris, snow, ice, and other potential hazards
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Coordinates work with Facilities department and other departments to minimize disruption to daily business operations
- Helps ensure compliance with safety laws, DHEC laws, and insurance recommendations
- Assists in maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization for shared Swamp spaces to include: outside, offices, break room, meeting rooms and other shared storage spaces
- Follows all safety and maintenance best practices for equipment and tools
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must communicate through company designated platforms including, but not limited to Slack, Paylocity and email.
- Is an active part of the Swamp Team so adheres to high standards of service, quality, and presentation
- Take initiative to help any area of the business if possible

PAY AND BENEFITS
- Pay ranges between $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience
- Requires flexible hours and rotating weekends
