- Management
● Responsible for the overall performance, efficiency and profitable operations of the entire Grocery store, including customer sales, ma labor, and service standards, inventory management, visual merchandising, and team member training and development.
● Leads the team in merchandising the store with strategic and impactful, fully stocked displays in accordance with set Merchandising Plans
● Responsible for meeting department expectations in all areas of the Grocery including fresh produce, frozen foods, dairy, dry goods, artisan and local products, meat, health and beauty, and beer and wine.
● Manages and oversees the duties of all Grocery team members (including stockists and online sales, produce team, beer and wine team, and Grocery Assistant Managers)
● Operates the grocery store according to SRCG Values, Standards, Operations Manual and Managers Guide and is competitive with industry best practices.
● Identifies and suggests creative solutions to often complex Grocery Department problems with an awareness of total store impact
● Works independently and addresses challenges within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Fosters company wide teamwork and assists other departments as needed. \
● Generates fun and excitement through personality and positive attitude to help ensure a good work environment and customer experience. Customer Service
● Leads and trains grocery staff on customer service protocols such as: greetings, locating products, answering questions, educating abo products, proper stocking practices, taking customer requests and offering product suggestion
● Complies to and ensures compliance of all related food safety, health & sanitation regulations, workplace safety, and weights and measures according to SCDHEC, other applicable laws and company policies and regulations as necessary.
● Handles both positive situations and challenging problems involving customers or employees
● Delegates, oversees and ensures clean, organized, and inviting spaces free of physical hazards Sales and Budget
● Manages profitability of total department in accordance with approved budget, including, but not limited to: sales goals, cost of goods, lab and other expenses, price changes, item shrink & waste management
● Reviews sales data, financial reports, and industry trends to promote successful performance and takes corrective actions as need
● Analyzes store data to identify areas of opportunity, determine root causes and implement solutions to continuously improve the overall performance of the store Inventory
● Manages and oversees all grocery items including actual physical inventory and corresponding electronic inventory in Square (Point of sale system) and verifies the accuracy of the information
● Runs and analyzes product reports regularly to guide business and merchandising decisions, such as buying trends and profit
● Responsible for preventing internal and external loss Merchandising
● Reviews Merchandising Plans; assigns the execution of monthly changes to the team ensuring accurate and timely completion
● Thoroughly monitors freshness, rotation and quality of all Grocery product; makes strategic decisions to maximize profit when potential loss identification
● Collaborates with the Sales & Marketing Team to develop and arrange sales/discounts, promotional materials, and in-store displays. Team and Training
● Hires, trains, coaches and reviews all team members. Collaborates with HR on disciplinary interventions when necessary
● Writes effective weekly schedules accounting for anticipated volume, special tasks, in-store events, time off requests and employee preferences
● Holds Grocery team responsible for productivity and performance by setting goals, communicating clearly, hosting regular team huddles, conducting regular one-on-one coaching, etc.
● Provides thorough on-the-job training and development of current staff to improve customer service, product knowledge and work efficiently
● Performs store walks and other audits and assigns/adjusts tasks to accomplish daily goals as necessary
● Models behaviors of success and jumps in to fill staff activities when needed to provide a great customer experience and opportunity for development of others.
● Able to weigh priorities, and knows when to pitch in and when to delegate
Qualifications
- Management and Customer Service experience Strong administrative skills

Salary : $55,000 - $62,000
