Swampscott Public Schools is looking for a Part-time (.6) Elementary Music Teacher. LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE THROUGH JUNE 2025
The new hire will teach grades K-4 at the new Swampscott Elementary School with potential to teach .4 at Nahant Elementary School
General Music:
- Teach students the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills based on the Massachusetts Fine Arts Standards, including singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising, and making cross-curricular connections.
- Teach students to sing and play easily accessible instruments such as electric keyboards, drums, recorders, handbells, ukuleles, and xylophones.
- Use up-to-date software and websites to teach music.
- Teach choral music to Grade 3 and 4 students, including preparing and directing twice-annual concerts.
- Piano experience is a plus.
