What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Strategist position at SWAN Beauty?
IN SEARCH OF :
We’re looking for a Social Media Marketing Specialist, ideally one with experience in beauty and personal care , whether on the brand / product side, retail, publishing / content side or some other aspect of the business. We want someone who’s a personal enthusiast too; an avid user of social media and beauty / personal care products. There’s no substitute for living it personally as well as professionally.
ABOUT US :
SWAN USA is a start-up. In 2H 2025 we’ll be launching a personal tech product that consumers will use for beauty / wellness. This is our flagship product and the debut of our brand . Our ambition is for SWAN to become an indispensable companion to the many ways humans make up, care for, and share their faces with the world.
More will be revealed when an NDA is in place.
MORE ABOUT THE JOB :
Social commerce will figure prominently in SWAN’s strategy. We have strong in-house production capabilities. We’ll be creating / deploying original content year-round. Again, our sole focus is beauty and personal care. We’ll also source content from brands and creators.
The person we hire will be primarily responsible for 4 “buckets” of work :
- Building the strategy / plan behind the content
- Map out content calendar with monthly, weekly, daily perspectives
- Determine mix of content – e.g., tutorials, reviews, testimonials
Paid and organic social campaigns
LTO’s & exclusives that create a sense of urgency
Interactive elements – e.g., surveys, quizzes
Insight into beauty trends, the cultural calendar, seasonal factors
A strong grasp of various social platforms, relative strengths / weaknesses
Latest / best practices in social media
2. Deploying content / managing social presence
Partner with designers / copywriters / producers
To produce visually appealing, compelling content
3. Engaging with the SWAN community
SOME GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Of course we’re hiring for skill se, but we’re hiring for mindset too. Start-ups by their very nature are a bit fluid and unstructured. We’re looking for someone who’s unfazed by that reality, someone who can roll with a bit of ambiguity / chaos. Someone with a “DIY” reflex, capable of picking up the ball and running with it when the need arises. Someone who’s fired up by the chance to build a brand / business from the ground up.
e.g., Meta Ads Manager, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Analytics
