We are seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team! We believe family relationships are vital to mental health wellness - especially for families impacted by autism and other mental health conditions. The position involves approximately 70% time in direct counseling (including initial assessments and follow up sessions) and 30% time is spent in team collaboration, care coordination (including intake, treatment planning).
Core Responsibilities :
- Collaborating with team members from different disciplines (e.g. Applied Behavior Analysis, etc).
- Orienting families to Forward's approach to comprehensive care for autism.
- Evaluating client / family needs for counseling and assisting in the provisioning of thoughtful, family-focused plans for support.
- Review with clinical team members and outside providers to cultivate a focus on the client's skills, knowledge, abilities, and developments.
- Compliance to board ethics while collaborating with others in the interdisciplinary team and the families we serve. Actively engaging other team members to consider effects of recommendations, interactions with parents / caregivers / children, explorations of progress and sharing of information and ideas.
- Deliver direct client counseling to groups, families, couples, and children (patients and their siblings).
- Building then maintaining a full caseload of 25-30 sessions per week.
- Develop and implement relationship strategies for families and individuals impacted by autism.
- Perform psychosocial assessments and create preliminary treatment and exit plans.
- Ensure all clinical charting and records are completed in the appropriate time frame
- Adhering to - and supporting other team members adherence to - organizational standards and policies.
- Interfacing with community services / resources and school systems and assisting families with transitions between in-clinic services and the community / school.
- Maintaining clinic documentation in line with HIPAA standards and in a timely fashion.
