Job Summary
Under the direction of the Production Manager and Production Supervisor, the Operator will support plant operations by performing job duties that constitute the production, inspection, and packaging of products. The incumbent will ensure that safety, quality, productivity, cost control & customer satisfaction is maintained at the highest levels.
Primary Functions and Duties
- Operate production and packaging machinery
- Changeover machines for new product runs
- Troubleshoot line stoppages
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Oversee employees on the production line
- Perform and document quality checks
- Reduce scrap, downtime, and general process improvements
- Repair, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on machines
Required Qualifications
- Must have high regard for safety.
- High school diploma, GED, or its equivalent is required.
- Three years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with hot tooling and/ or equipment, is a plus!
- Strong mathematical ability (i.e., measurements, etc.)
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) (preferred).
- Able to work in a team-orientated environment
- Candidate MUST have a strong work ethic and is able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with the plastic extrusion process is a plus!
