Materials Lab Technician

Job Summary
As Swan continues to grow, we are seeking dynamic, organized, strategic self-starters to join our team. In this role as Materials Lab Tech, you will have the opportunity to support production efficiencies by ensuring materials meet quality and specifications in a rewarding environment where you will play a significant role in impacting our factory.
Primary functions and duties
- Perform incoming material testing on raw materials using basic lab techniques.
- Inspects materials at point of supply to ensure materials conform to specifications.
- Informs plant management of material or production problems, rejects substandard material and assists in determining cause for material problems.
- Assists in maintaining lab equipment.
- Maintain clean laboratory workspace.
- Maintains a database of inspection or test details.
- Receives training in material specifications and inspection procedures and techniques.
- Prepares samples of raw materials or manufactured materials at various stages of production for testing.
- Advises supervisor of inspection activities in the manufacturing facility and coordinates testing/ inspections.
- Maintains and assists in calibrating equipment.
- Prepares inspection or test reports.
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies
- 3 years laboratory work, material inspection or other related activities. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
