Job Summary
Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor/Manager, the Quality Control Lead Tech will be responsible for conducting a wide variety of quality assurance inspections and audits in support of the Quality Supervisor/Management Plan. The incumbent will ensure that safety, quality, productivity, cost control & customer satisfaction is maintained at the highest levels.
Primary Functions and Duties
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment, observes, and follows all safety policies, and wears appropriate and prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE). Must complete any necessary and/or required safety training.
- Maintain safe & orderly storage area by arranging material, products, and equipment as required.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and well-organized work area, which includes returning items to appropriate locations and areas (i.e., backdrops, brass, strapping, pallet jacks, etc.). Practice good housekeeping skills (i.e., sweeping, wiping, mopping, trash disposal, etc.)
- Conduct internal quality inspections and process audits.
- Schedule and ensure execution of regular internal inspections and audits to identify areas for continued improvement.
- Analyze and trend non-conformances to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner and effective Corrective Actions are implemented.
- Anticipate and systematically analyze problems, opportunities, and situations.
- Collaborate with the Quality Supervisor/Manager to facilitate and implement corrective actions, process improvements, and preventive actions to support the performance and needs of the business and its clients.
- Evaluate current measures of internal quality and develop new metrics to track performance improvement.
- Meet commitments and continually update on the status of project or issue.
- Promote sharing of knowledge and skills across the organization.
- Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
- Continuously improve skills through in-house training, self-study methods, and other available training resources
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) Word, Excel, and knowledge of graphs and pivot charts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Oversee a team of Quality Techs and assist as a back-up to the Quality Supervisor/Manager.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
