What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward/Dishwasher position at Swank Desserts?
Job Type:
Part-time or full-time available. Must be able to work Saturdays. Shifts will run from 7:45 am-3pm.
Who we are:
Swank Desserts is a high-end dessert shop that caters to dessert enthusiasts who view dessert as a necessity and not an option. Our menus rotate frequently and we utilize fresh and high quality ingredients in all of our products. Everything is made from scratch and in house daily.
This role is ideal for individuals who are organized, dependable, and enjoy contributing to a clean and efficient work environment. Must enjoy cleaning! Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and able to lift 50 pounds. Previous kitchen experience is preferred, but not required.

The Job:
The kitchen steward ensures the cleanliness and organization of the dish pit/ kitchen area and duties include:
- Keeping the dish pit clear of all dishes
- Properly cleaning, sanitizing, and putting away dishes
- Help put away deliveries
- Assisting in breaking down boxes
- Restocking chemicals and cleaning supplies
- Making regular rounds of the shop to ensure all areas are free of dishes/ trash and presentable to customers
- Regularly sweep prep area and ensure that trash is not overflowing
- Clean floors in kitchen area
- Assist with light prep duties (scooping/rolling cookie dough, flipping and pairing macarons) in downtime
- Assist with folding boxes in downtime
- Adhering to safety and health regulations
- Completing daily checklists
For PT must be available to work Thursday-Saturday. Hours can be somewhat flexible, but MUST be available to work on Saturdays.
Compensation:
Weekly pay (hourly) in addition credit card tips. No work on Sundays, holidays, no late nights. PTO is available for full-time employees after one year of employment. There are opportunities for growth and advancement.
