Position Title: Full-Time Behavior Health Technician – Applied Behavior Analysis I Center Support Assistant Status: Full-Time Hourly Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Assigned BA or BC-ABA Supervisor; Department: Clinical Team Clinical Director Essential Function: Provision of Direct IBHS Client Services. It is the Essential Function of FT BHT-ABA Is to provide direct intervention services to SESD’s clients as assigned by the Program Manager/Clinical Director and under the direction of the BA or BC-ABA Supervisor of each client to whom they are assigned. Primary Responsibilities: FT BHT-ABA Must prioritize the provision of direct client services for their assigned clients and other clients who need temporary/substitute services over non-direct client work; direct client service hours should make up an average of over 75% of one’s work week. Follow all current Operations Plans including policies, procedures, and documentation contained within the SESD Operations Manual that are relevant to this position. Secondary Responsibilities: Support the Program Manager, Clinical Director, and MLCs with

  • The daily maintenance of the Center environment including picking up, cleaning, sanitizing toys, organizing, and decorating
  • Preparing and organizing individual client materials
  • Preparing and organizing group activity materials
  • Assisting with the preparation for special events
  • Other supportive tasks as requested. Work to acquire basic competencies in ABA intervention for both managing problem behavior and shaping clients’ acquisition of new skills, specific to assigned clients. This can, but does not have to, include participating in RBT study group and ultimately obtain RBT certificate. The FT BHT-ABA I Position Includes the Following Detailed Responsibilities Provide BHT-ABA Direct Intervention Services Provide FT BHT-ABA I services across a variety of clients and a variety of client environments including home, daycare, preschool, elementary school, other community locations, and SESD’s center in Lancaster as assigned. 1630 Manheim Pike Ste 2, Lancaster, PA 17601 717-945-6491 Be available to, and consistently provide, an average of at least 32.5 hours per week of direct client BHT-ABA services and 7.5 non-billable work hours between the hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday. Provide company with consistent daily availability as stated upon hire or in subsequent request to change schedule of daily availability. Give at least thirty days’ notice and notify managers through current company procedures when FT BHT-ABA I’s committed hours of availability to provide services need to change (ie: need to shift from M-F 8am-4pm to M-F 9am – 5pm). Work with client families and the SESD Clinical and Operations Teams to adjust schedule as needed to accommodate temporary schedule changes for client/BHT-ABA appointments and outages, while still attempting to provide an average of at least 32.5 hours per week direct client services. Track time lost due to both client/BHT-ABA outages and work with Program Manager & client famililes to make up this time as possible. Fully & effectively document all client services in SESD’s practice management software immediately following the provision of services as per current company policies and procedurs. Provide science-based, ABA intervention to all clients based on initial and on-going training provided by the Training Coordinator, Training Team, Assigned Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, and/or other assigned BAs / BC-ABAs. Follow Client Specific Interventions as trained and directed by Assigned BA / BC-ABA which may include but are not limited to:
  • Follow the daily session schedule or required treatment activities
  • Follow the Individual Treatment Plan or Individual Education Plan (or both) unique to each client
  • Implement intervention procedures specific to each individual client
  • Collect data accurately using directed data collection systems and collect data throughout clients’ entire sessions, taking data in real time as problem behavior and other responding occurs
  • Follow client specific and general clinical training and feedback provided by Training Coordinator & Training Team and Assigned Master’s Level Clinicians. Fully apply their recommendations to work with specified client/s
  • Bring ideas, suggestions, or concerns about client’s treatment directly to Assigned BA/BC-ABA. Do not take these thoughts or concerns directly to client families or other professionals working with client. Allow BAs/BC-ABAs to make these decisions and communicate their decisions directly to all team members. Comply with Professional Behavior Expectations of SESD Self-Monitor and Refrain from Going into Overtime, Limiting Non-Billable Work to

  • Writing up and finalizing session note for client session
  • Required Supervision and Trainings
  • Attendance at SESD All Staff Meetings, All Staff Trainings, and other company meetings/trainings for which your attendance is requested
  • When FT BHT-ABA I does not have job description-driven non-billable work based on items above, they should seek out their assigned BA/BC-ABA Supervisor directly for assignments Adhere to BACB and SESD Professional Ethics Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures including but not limited to
  • Maintaining therapeutic boundaries with Client Families
  • Avoiding dual relationships with SESD Team Members
  • Honest and Accurate accounting of services provided, time worked, and work completed Embrace and consistently demonstrate company Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Attempt to incorporate throughout provisions of services, interaction with other professionals, and interaction with colleagues at SESD. Follow all SESD Policies and Procedures as written in Job Descriptions, Employee Handbook, Client Family Handbook, and SESD’s Operations Manual as well as any additional directives sent out by email to team members from their supervisors or other management, announced at All Staff Meetings, or for which training was provided during onboarding, annual training, or training at other times throughout the year. Comply with IBHS Regulations and Maintain Requirements for FT BHT-ABA I Position
  • Attend and participate in IBHS required supervision, both group and individual
  • Where FT BHT-ABA I is a certified RBT, also attend and participate in BACB required supervision, both group and individual
  • Attend and participate in IBHS required trainings and follow supervisor-led Individual Training Plan at the rates required by regulations and requested by supervisor
  • Maintain up to date required clearances and certifications. Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Meet the Qualifications for ‘Provider of BHT-ABA Services’ as per PA IBHS regulations: o Must be 18 years of age or older. o Must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalency
  • At least one year’s experience working with children with or without behavioral health diagnoses
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. V3.7.25 cls 3 1630 Manheim Pike Ste 2, Lancaster, PA 17601 717-945-6491
  • 3 positive professional reference checks, including one from former/current direct supervisor
  • Proof of clean and clear state required background checks that were done within a year of start date with SESD. o PA Child Abuse Clearance o PA State Criminal Check (aka ‘PATCH’) o FBI Fingerprinting done through Department of Human Services
  • Presents clear TB/Mantoux test results that are done within 90 days of start date with SESD
  • Presents proof of state required Mandated Reporter training (within 5 years of taking) and accepts role as Mandated Reporter. Other Desired Qualifications:
  • Has completed the IBHS required 40 hours of training in ABA or holds Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician from the BACB
  • Minimum of one year’s experience working with children who have a behavioral health diagnosis
  • Other specific training in and/or experience in implementing ABA principles
  • A desire to pursue work in early childhood, ABA, education, psychology, or related field.   • Must be able to hear clients, see documents, use keyboard, and move from location to location
  • Must be able to get down on the floor and back up to standing easily and sometimes very quickly in order to effectively support assigned clients
  • Must be able to sit on the floor in on a low chair to position self at client’s eye level
  • Must be able to physically manage device or paper/pencil taking data while also managing and providing direct intervention to clients
  • Must be able to engage in physical play with clients including running, jumping, hopping, walking, crawling, throwing/rolling/kicking/catch balls or utilizing other sports equipment
  • Must be able to carry up to 20 pounds of equipment/therapeutic materials at a time
  • Must be able to go up & down stairs in clients’ homes that may not be ADA compliant
  • Quick physical response to physically prompt or block a client’s movement to ensure errorless skill acquisition
  • Quick physical response to physically prompt or block a client’s movement to ensure aggression attempt is blocked or to quickly jump up & move out of reach if client initiates physical aggression towards Employee
