Schedule and Shift Times:
- Shifts are generally 4-6-hour shifts with breaks. Sunday mornings are required.
- Thursday - Monday are our busiest days, especially when holidays are included. All staff rotate through holidays and weekends.
- Shifts begin as early as 4:45 AM and extend as late as 10 PM. This may vary slightly around holidays.
- Note all shifts are scheduled 5-6 weeks in advance.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS AND POSITION:
Day to Day:
Our pet steward team is responsible for the daily care of dogs and cats in our facility. This includes walking and exercise, feeding and medicating, pet health monitoring, pet bathing and non-groomer services, facility maintenance and care, and extensive client communication. Cleaning and disinfecting are all-day occurrences, focusing on pet safety and disease prevention.
How we positively impact people:
Seeing the smiling faces of pet owners as they pick up their pets from boarding, grooming, and enrichment daycare and knowing they can trust you with their pets makes it worth it.
How we work as a team:
Pet Care stewards will train with a teammate but work independently or with another person during their shift. Stewards must be self-starters, motivated, efficient, and possess excellent time management skills. Communicating with our enrichment, concierge, and grooming team for a cohesive workday is essential.
Opportunities For Growth:
We understand growth is not one-size-fits-all. Positions of leadership, opportunities to explore different departments, and expansion into other areas of our business (like veterinary medicine at our sister business, Swann Animal Clinic) are possible. Growth also doesn't have a guaranteed timetable. For those wanting to grow in other aspects, communication and patience are key.
Pay and Benefits:
- Rate: $9-$13/ hour
- Pay Schedule: Sidekicks operates on a trailing two-week pay period. What this means: We are paid on the 1st and 15th of each month. On the 1st, you are paid what you worked on the 1st-15th, and on the 15th, you are paid what you worked on the 15th-End of the Month. This means your first paycheck is respectively four weeks after you start on either the 1st or 15th.
- Benefits: Part-time employees are eligible for employee discounts at Sidekicks and Swann Animal Clinic, a $150 uniform perk*, and other ancillary benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for extensive benefits beyond this scope.
Interviews and Hiring Process:
- Candidates we are interested in interviewing will be invited to a virtual meet and greet with up to 3 other candidates. This is a 15-minute opportunity for us to get to know you and ask some general questions.
- After the meet-and-greet, if we would like to pursue the next steps, you will be offered a two-hour working interview. This allows you to get a feel for the position, the flow of the day, and how our team operates, and answer any questions you may have.
- If we feel you are a great fit for our team at this point, we will offer you a position.
Salary : $9 - $13
