What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Support Staff - Grades 3-6 Planning Room Assignment position at Swanton Elementary School?
Swanton School has an opening for a flexible and responsive individual to join our Student Support Staff for the 2024-2025 school year. This opening will be assigned to our grades 3-6 Planning Rooms and, as part of a team, will support student behavior through a variety of proactive and supportive responses. At times, this position may be called upon to support any student preschool through grade 6. This position requires training and certification in Handle with Care, our approach to de-escalation and physical support of students in crisis (provided.) Patience, flexibility, and a positive approach to relationship-building with students is essential. A knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is helpful, and will be provided. An unconditional respect of student and families, unwavering confidentiality and strong teamwork are essential.
