The Technical Support & Application Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, product training, and application expertise to clients and internal teams. This role requires a deep understanding of road marking materials, application techniques, and industry standards to assist customers in achieving optimal product performance. Creating awareness of product performance characteristics and differentiation with road marking contractors, distributors and government agencies are also essential to this role. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with management, fellow Regional Sales Managers, product managers, and customer service staff
Responsibilities & Duties :Provide technical support to customers, addressing inquiries related to product applications, troubleshooting, and best practices.Conduct on-site product demonstrations and training sessions for customers, contractors, government agencies and internal teams.Assist in the development of application guidelines, technical documents, and training materials.Collaborate with product development and production teams to improve product performance and resolve technical issues.Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements to provide informed guidance to clients.Perform field testing and quality control evaluations to ensure proper product performance and adherence to specifications.Support the sales team with technical expertise and application solutions tailored to customer needs.Work closely with customers to analyze their requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical support cases, and training sessions.Maintain field support database and track projectsEnsure appropriate and most current revision and specifications are used; advise customer base of industry and / or product developments, specification improvementsPrepare and present reports to management, highlighting key learnings from field trips, product performance data, customer feedback, application and performance challenges and opportunities for product enhancement.Represent the company in industry organizations, at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our brand and products and keep abreast of industry developments.Improve qualified product listings, maintain and share data and documentation (incl. photos, video) of field demos, tests, and specialty applicationQualifications & Educational Requirements :Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field preferred but not requiredProven experience in technical support or application engineering, preferably in the road marking, coatings, or construction industry.Strong knowledge of road marking materials, application techniques, and industry standards preferred but not required.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to conduct training sessions and customer consultations online or in the field.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.Willingness to travel to customer sites for support, training, and demonstrations as requiredSpecial obligations and skillsTrustworthiness and confidentiality in all mattersStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsTeam player with a hands-on and proactive mentalityMaintain and take care of issued company assets (computer, field instruments, office equipment, etc.)Willingness to travel extensively in the construction season (March-October)Submit timely travel and expense reports with relevant updates, receipts, odometer readings, etc.Work EnvironmentWhen not in the home office, this job generally operates in the field on roadways or customer location and may require occasional lift and / or move of up to 50 lbs. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and portable field equipment. Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Remote (TN, AL, GA, SC, NC, KY, VA) Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., however field work may require working outside of normal business hours.
