Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer. As a member of the SWARCO McCain family, you will assist in the preparation and revision of engineering drawings and item entry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanical engineers in preparing drawings for sheet metal parts and weldments.
• Design and document the construction of electronic enclosures and components.
• Create solid model parts and assemblies.
• Create drawing files from part and assembly models.
• Create and incorporate Engineering Change Notices.
• Assist Sales in interpreting specifications.
  
  

Requirements

• Must be proficient in SolidWorks and sheet metal modeling.
• Minimum of 2 years of SolidWorks experience with sheet metal modeling.
• Must have computer skills, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Windows Explorer, etc.
• Must be familiar with MRP, i.e. Great Plains, or other systems for creating bill of materials.
• Must be creative and able to work as a member of the design team.
• Must be able to work from specifications, rough sketches and verbal instructions.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure.
• Ability to work in high paced environment.
• Ability to be flexible.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact with customers and all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
  
  

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and or electronically.

$80k - $90k per year, depending on experience
