Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the preparation and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous medications used in our infusion center. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy in pharmaceutical care.
This is a Full-Time position
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders for accuracy, ensuring all patient and physician details are complete.
- Prepare and compound infusion medications following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Properly dispose of materials used in the admixture process, adhering to safety and compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment, including daily cleaning of equipment and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Assist with inventory control by monitoring medication supplies, placing orders, and ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Receive and store medications appropriately, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure essential drug supplies are available across all relevant departments.
- Perform routine inventory counts and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and best practices.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and their proper application.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication handling protocols.
- Proficiency in metric systems of weight and measurement, with excellent mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with medical safety standards related to pharmaceutical substances.
- Ability to interpret and process prescription details with precision and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet-based inventory management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
