POSITION SUMMARY :
The Oncology Surgical Services Coordinator supports the operational management of administrative and strategic activities across the entire oncology surgical services program. The coordinator collaborates with the Director of Specialty Clinics and departments to operationalize a cohesive organizational development strategy that aligns with the UW Health mission and strategic plan and maintains open and ongoing communications. The main responsibility of this position is assisting in the development and successful implementation of the strategic oncology surgical services program business plan. This includes successfully operationalizing breast program and Gynecological Oncology strategic initiatives and processes, including program development, strategic development, financial management, and patient care operations.
The Oncology Surgical Services Coordinator works collaboratively with Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, UWNIL Breast Surgery, Gynecological Oncology Surgery, UWNIL General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Operating Rooms, Radiology, and Pathology Departments and the Carbone Cancer Center Rockford operational leadership. This role will oversee operational processes, including policies, documentation, clinical services, patient care, and educational materials, to ensure the optimization of patient care across departments, providing consistent, high-quality, evidence-based care to oncology patients. The coordinator is also responsible for facilitating maintenance of NAPBC Accreditation.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Experience : A minimum of two years of professional nursing experience is required. Candidates should have a strong clinical background and a proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care. Experience in a healthcare setting will be essential to ensure a thorough understanding of clinical operations and patient needs.
Minimum : Excellent judgement, problem solving, and communication skills. Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills. Knowledge of service line operations and familiarity with project management skills. Familiarity with computer programs and system applications. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of staff within the organization and community. Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
