Principal Safety Officer - Olympia (Full time / Day shift / 1 FTE)
The Principal Safety Officer plans, develops, implements, and evaluates safety programs especially related to the following disciplines according to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), and Department of Health: general safety (inspections, accidents/incidents); life safety (fire drills, testing, inspections); utility management; security and workplace violence prevention, clinical medical equipment; and hazardous materials and waste management. This position manages all aspects of emergency management for the campus and system level responses, from mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. This position also manages programs according to the Washington Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and Washington Administrative Codes (WAC) such as: asbestos; lead; mold, indoor air quality, hearing conservation; respiratory program; ergonomics; the Americans with Disabilities Act; laser safety; and radiation safety. Serves as a liaison with internal and external committees and resources related to safety. Responsible for the environment of care program development, and coordinating / leading complex projects associated with these programs, namely general safety, life safety, and emergency management.

Required Qualifications:
- 5 years related experience in safety and regulatory compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Master's Degree or Certificate
- Upon hire: Certificate in Safety, Security, or related environment of care field, Quality Improvement Environmental Health and Safety, or Industrial Hygienist
- 2 years experience in a healthcare setting
