Senior Laboratory Assistant - Everett Medical Ctr Colby-Everett(HR)
SCHEDULE: 0.875, Night Shift, 2100-0700
Responsible for phlebotomy and processing of appropriate samples for testing, including 1) computer inquiry and entry to maintain patient demographics as well as test ordering details in multiple computer systems by compliance guidelines; 2.) Processing and preparing samples for testing at PRMCE laboratories and Patient Service Centers. 3.) Processing, preparing, and packaging samples for delivery to reference labs. Work is conducted according to all regulatory accreditation agency requirements. Processes all specimen types and sources to be analyzed by the laboratory including blood, urine, cultures, and other body fluids. Phlebotomy procedures are required which include venous and capillary punctures, and urine collections for medical and legal testing procedures (Legal collections depending on location).

Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Completion of a Phlebotomy course (including completion of a 4-week internship in Phlebotomy in a clinical laboratory setting) or a combination of education and directly related work experience.
- Coursework/Training: Completing an accredited Medical Assistant Course or six months of related laboratory work experience and eligible for a DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy license.
- Coursework/Training: If the job assignment requires driving to another facility, complete the Defensive Driving course within 6 months of hire and every three years after that.
- Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire. Or
- Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
