Are you fluent in English, Trigrigna, and Amharic? Do you have a passion for bridging language gaps and ensuring clear communication? We are looking for talented individuals to provide accurate and impartial on-site spoken language interpretation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and translate between English and one or more foreign languages or dialects (Trigrigna, Amharic).

  • Deliver professional-level medical interpreting, ensuring Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients receive linguistically appropriate care.

  • Collaborate with SMC medical personnel to facilitate effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in oral and written English and both Trigrigna and Amharic

  • Fluent English pronunciation is essential

  • Strong knowledge of medical vocabulary and terminology

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire:

  • National Certified Medical Interpreter - National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters --or--

  • Washington Social Services Interpreter - Washington State Department of Social and Health Services

  • 1 year Interpretation experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting
