Job Description

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Certifications : BLS, NRP, CRTT

Must-Have : NICU experience, EPIC skills, Experience with Draeger and Servo I ventilators

Description :

All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must be separated from the system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position.

Candidates must have experience in NICU, and the manager is waiving the PICU experience requirement for this position.

Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Candidates must be open to floating to other campuses.

Patient volume / load is approximately 5 ventilators and 6-8 RVU's.

The setting includes rooms that accommodate 500 patients, covering an age group that includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents (preferred), and adults, geriatrics (required).

Work setting experience required in ER, PICU, adult ICU, and NICU.

Required respiratory care experience includes airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopes, nebulizer, BIPAP, CPAP, and EKGs.

Preferred experience includes high-frequency oscillator and high-risk deliveries.

All travelers are expected to float to another unit within their scope of practice if needed.

There is a designated float team that floats first, however, travelers will float first before permanent staff if needed.

All facilities are within a 40-mile radius.

In the event that the traveler needs to float, it is their responsibility to find transportation to the facility they are floated to.

Traveler's refusal to float may result in termination of assignment or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty / setting.

Modules are non-billable with an average of 16 hours spent.

Modules are completed pre-start and annually, with completion recorded in transcripts.

Orientation is 40 hours.
