What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hi Speed Operator 2nd Shift position at Swedish Match North America LLC?

In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a High Speed Operator 2nd shift for the Dothan, AL facility.
Summary: Ability to operate high–speed automated cigar production machinery. This equipment includes but not limited to: Cigar making equipment, KHS packaging equipment, Hopper/Upright Loader, Marden Edwards Case Packers, automated conveyors, touch screens and air suction equipment.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ability to operate various types of hi–speed cigar making and packaging machinery to achieve established production standards.
- Make any necessary adjustments to maintain quality attributes.
- Assist with corrective troubleshooting on all hi–speed equipment as needed.
- Multitasking within the Facility when needed, examples are: material handling, forklift driver, etc.
- Responsible for notifying the Hi-Speed Mechanic of problems inhibiting performance.
- Assist with the evaluation of the performance of existing production machinery to identify deficiencies causing low efficiencies and higher than standard waste levels.
- Keep area of responsibility neat and clean.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment through continuous communication, participation in common goals and providing products and services that meet our customer's specifications.
- Observe and follow all safety rules and Company policies as outlined by Swedish Match Cigars.
- Assist department Manager in auditing and maintaining all documents related to EMS/QMS families.
- Communicates with production team and others in the organization to insure internal/external customer deadlines are met.
- Suggests changes or ideas in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of or reduce operating costs of department.
- Assist in training of other personnel, as required.
Qualifications:
Serve as an integral part of the quality process to inspect/test, record, advise, etc. to ensure that a quality product is produced.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to maintain quality records, write routine reports and correspondence, and perform daily data entry.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, and managers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
