Job Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the Broom Sweeper Truck to ensure the vehicle is in proper working order before street sweeping operations.
Heavy focus on crew safety, Pre/Post Trip Inspections, Training, Production, and Quality of Service
Review and clarify daily route assignments to ensure accuracy and understanding.
Safely operate the Broom Sweeper Truck to complete daily scheduled street sweeping tasks, ensuring efficient and timely service.
Adhere to street sweeping quality standards, ensuring compliance with company procedures for effective debris removal.
Track and document completed routes and street sweeping tasks, ensuring accurate reporting for operational efficiency.
Ensure safety by adjusting operations during adverse weather or difficult conditions, ensuring safe street sweeping at all times.
Report any equipment issues, accidents, or near misses promptly to the Supervisor.
Perform post-trip inspections at the end of each shift, refuel the truck, document maintenance needs, and ensure the Broom Sweeper Truck is ready for the next shift.
Travel up to 50% of the time to Miami, FL, as needed for assignments.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in street sweeping or operating sweeper trucks is a plus.
Experience leading or supervising a team in a CDL driving or maintenance role is preferred.
Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and a valid medical card.
Ability to work in outdoor environments, with exposure to varying and adverse weather conditions.
Exposure to noise, vibrations, jarring movements, fumes, grease, oil, and chemicals associated with road maintenance.
Active, physical work involving occasional lifting (50 lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and reaching. Frequent walking, standing, driving, and operating equipment for extended periods.
Requires the ability to adjust focus, maintain depth perception, and possess clear vision at both close and distant ranges. Use of ear, eye, and other safety equipment is required.
Regular use of hands to operate tools, controls, and equipment, as well as the ability to reach with hands and arms.
Regular use of eyes, shoulders, and neck to monitor vehicle mirrors and backup camera during street sweeping operations.
