Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

Mechanic     We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.    Location: 390 E Gish Road, San Jose, CA 9511 Pay: $38 to $50 per hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm; some weekends as necessary   Responsibilities:  Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.  Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.  Keep logs of work or use maintenance system to report on issues.  Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.  Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.  Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.  Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.  Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.  Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.  Undertake other duties as assigned (repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)  Perform service calls and roadside repairs and adjustments, as needed.     Heavy equipment experience, preferred.     Requirements & Skills   2 Years of Proven Experience as Mechanic  Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components  Aptitude in using various hand tools, shop tools and precision measurement tools (calipers)  Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, wiring schematic, etc.  Must provide basic hand tools for use.  A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.  Good communication skills and problem-solving abilities.  Very good physical strength and stamina.   Must have good attitude and attendance practices.   High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.  Valid ASE certifications, preferred.    Benefits  Competitive wages  401K plan  Health, dental, vision, and life insurance  Various voluntary benefits like – short-term/long-term disability, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and additional life insurance  Paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick time)  The knowledge that you are working for the industry leader.   A great place to grow your career: training, promotion and career paths and advancement.  Weekly pay on Fridays for hourly positions  On-Demand Pay (through Ceridian: Dayforce) – Get paid as you earn!    #SCAMechanic2
