Shop Mechanic

Join Our Team as a Mechanic   Location: 1113 N Shaw Rd, Stockton, CA 95215 Starting Pay: $29 per hour Hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 12 PM to 8:30 PM / Saturday hours are 6 AM to 2:30 PM   Mechanic Job Summary:    We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team to assemble, maintain, and repair machinery and vehicles. As a Mechanic, you will ensure the functionality, safety, and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience with a wide range of machines and tools, following strict safety protocols.    Responsibilities:  Assemble and build machines or mechanical components according to specifications  Inspect and troubleshoot machines, engines, and transmissions to identify and diagnose issues  Conduct 90-day bit inspections, service machinery, and carry out repairs as needed Run diagnostic tests and maintain detailed logs of all work performed  Conduct repairs with an emphasis on maximizing functionality and reliability  Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems  Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components and replenish necessary fluids  Advise on correct maintenance practices and preventative measures to machine users  Undertake additional duties as required, such as repairs of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc.  Complete service calls, as needed  Experience with heavy equipment is a plus    Requirements & Skills   Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Mechanic  Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record  Have or be willing to obtain a DOT Medical Card  Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical systems  Comfortable using technology, repair scanners, and diagnostic tools Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers)  Ability to follow established procedures, read instruction manuals, and wiring schematics  Must have basic hand tools for daily use  Commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations  Excellent communication and problem-solving skills  Strong physical stamina and good overall fitness  Positive attitude and reliable attendance  High school diploma preferred; certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus  ASE certifications are preferred but not required    Benefits  Competitive wages  401K plan  Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance  Various voluntary benefits, including short-term/long-term disability, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and additional life insurance  Paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick days)  Opportunities for career growth, including training and promotion paths  Weekly pay on Fridays for hourly positions  On-Demand Pay (through Ceridian: Dayforce) – Get paid as you earn  Why Join Us?  Be part of an industry leader  Enjoy a supportive and dynamic work environment  Access to career development and advancement opportunities
