Sweet Express, LLC a local growing transportation company based in Kentwood, MI is looking to hire a full time Application Processor with experience recruiting drivers for our Breton terminal. The schedule for this position is generally 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and 7am to 4pm as needed to support orientation.
As a member of the Sweet Express team you will:
· Reviewing applications and other paperwork provided by applicants and candidates.
· Follow up with applicants to collect all necessary information.
· Coordinating submission of necessary paperwork with applicants to obtain required documentation for DOT/FMCSA CDL-A tractor-trailer operators.
· May be responsible for accepting or rejecting the application but typically work with the applicant to ensure everything is filled out correctly.
· Check for correct forms and supporting documents to ensure applicants and candidates are eligible to move forward.
· Answer incoming calls and make outbound calls to assist applicants and verify information.
· Obtain verifications of employment in compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements.
· Respond to and complete requests for verifications of employment for tractor-trailer operators according to company procedures and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
· Record data in a timely and accurate manner into the applicant tracking system and company tracking and accounting systems.
· Handle sensitive and personal information of applicants and candidates in a confidential manner.
· Remain professional when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
· Manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Periodically back-up the onboarding leader including the following:
· Assist drivers with online orientation courses-virtual walkthroughs, paperwork, and quizzes.
· Present portions of the orientation content and work with other department facilitators to cover all necessary portions of the orientation curriculum.
· Ensure adherence to orientation schedule for timely completion of orientation segments.
· Coordinate shuttling drivers to the clinic for screenings, to their accommodations, or other locations as needed.
· Scheduling drug screens and physicals prior to start dates.
· Data entry and tracking driver progress, task completion, and events related to orientation.
A successful candidate will possess the following skills:
· Experienced with data management and data entry.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage stress and conflict.
· Ability to manage interruptions and maintain a high level of detail and work quality.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Nitro PDF
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Punctuality and attention to detail are critical.
- Knowledge of DOT hiring, and compliance requirements preferred.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
· Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
· Use hands to finger, grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
· Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
· Occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
· Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
· Infrequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
· Infrequent standing and conveying information verbally.
