CTE Agriculture Science
SUMMARY:
Ag Science: we are looking for someone to compliment our current Ag Science program by offering more specific classes in Power Mechanics and Ag Structures. We would like someone who feels comforatble in a shop setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Responds in a cooperative and positive manner to supervision.
- Participates in activities which are related to school functions and/or the educative process which may occur outside the regular school day.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned non-teaching duties.
- Plan and present a program of study that meets the individual needs of students in the Agriculture Science program.
- Work collaboratively with staff in the development and implementation of the Agriculture Science certified course work.
- Give students the opportunity to develop leadership skills as well as supervisory skills.
- Communicate with parents and community on a regular basis.
- Plan and prepare a budget for assigned area.
- Adhere to state, district and school regulations
- Work with other CTE colleagues to enhance CTE opportunities at SHHS.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises students in assigned classroom and during periods of duty supervision.
- Supervises teacher assistants and volunteers as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 2,000 hours of documented and relevant work experience.
- Associate of Arts
- Such alternatives as the board deems appropriate
- Degree in the Medical or Ag field
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Oregon teaching license
- Appropriate CTE endorsement(s)
- Business and industry experience that would qualify for a Restricted CTE Licensure requirements
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.

ATTENDANCE STANDARDS:
This is an exempt position as defined under the Oregon Wage and Hours Law. The normal work year and work day will be based on the operational needs of the district, however there may be some hours beyond the normal day, or normal week, depending on the particular operational needs of the district. The attendance standards described, herein, shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours or days of work.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary to be determined by the Board of Directors. Work schedules will be reviewed and approved by the principal and shall be based on the operational needs of the district.
