Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Creation and Planning: Develop and design creative, seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and cater to customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Oversee the preparation and cooking of all food items, ensuring they are prepared according to recipe specifications, presented beautifully, and served at the highest quality.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide training and guidance to help the team develop culinary skills.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, place orders for ingredients, and ensure that all items are stocked appropriately. Oversee the proper storage and rotation of food to minimize waste.
- Maintain Kitchen Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure that the kitchen adheres to all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to the restaurant’s standards. Address and correct any issues that may arise.
- Cost Control: Work to maintain food cost efficiency by managing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and utilizing ingredients effectively.
- Collaboration with Front-of-House: Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for customers. Collaborate on special events, promotions, or new menu items.
- Handle Special Requests: Address any special dietary requirements, allergies, or customer preferences in a professional manner.
- Keep Up with Trends: Stay updated on food trends, new cooking techniques, and restaurant industry innovations to continually enhance the menu and kitchen operations.
