Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and efficient Food Runner/Expo Associate to join our team at Sweet Paris Creperie & Cafe. This role is crucial for ensuring that our guests receive their meals promptly and accurately, enhancing their overall dining experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Food Running: Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables swiftly and accurately. Ensure that food presentation meets restaurant standards before serving. Assist servers with table maintenance and customer service as needed.
- Expo Duties: Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service. Monitor order tickets and ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes. Check orders for accuracy and completeness before they leave the kitchen. Communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
- General Duties: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo and food running areas. Assist with restocking supplies and ingredients as needed. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Provide excellent customer service by being attentive and responsive to guest needs.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands of the Position
- Standing for Long Periods: Food runners and expo associates spend most of their shifts on their feet, requiring good stamina and endurance.
- Lifting and Carrying: They often need to lift and carry heavy trays of food and drinks, sometimes multiple plates at once.
- Walking and Navigating: Constant movement between the kitchen and dining area is required, often navigating through crowded spaces quickly and safely.
- Bending and Reaching: Tasks such as setting up trays, delivering food, and clearing tables involve frequent bending and reaching.
- Fast-Paced Environment: The job requires working quickly and efficiently, especially during peak hours, which can be physically demanding.
- Repetitive Movements: Tasks like carrying trays, setting tables, and delivering food involve repetitive motions, which can be tiring over time.
