What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Sweet Pea's Cafe?
Overview
Family-owned farm-to-table pizzeria looking for a dishwasher for the 2025 season! Shift would typically be from 4-10:30 or so, Monday-Friday, with additional catering shifts available if desired.
Duties
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, countertops, and food preparation spaces.
- Assist with food preparation tasks if time allows, including basic food handling and cooking support.
- Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
- Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the kitchen supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely.
