PURPOSE:
To move ingredients, components and finished products when/where they are needed, controlling through rotation, scheduling and efficiency of usage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In 1979, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Sandy Solmon started baking cookies in a 2-bay garage. Tirelessly testing recipes and ingredients, she struck the perfect balance: a harmonization of flavor, texture, and the elusive dimension of artfulness that separates good cookies from great ones. As her cookies caught on and the following for her small production grew, Sandy’s dessert portfolio expanded and Sweet Street Desserts was born.
Today, Sweet Street is the leading innovator in the dessert industry. We’re still owned and operated by Sandy and headquartered in Reading where Sandy is also the head of research and development, leading a team of like-minded, passionate researchers and recipe developers who now bake for restaurants in over 60 countries, on every continent.
In 2014, we established a new manufacturing facility in Greenville, South Carolina, allowing us to expand production capacity and more easily and efficiently reach our growing customer base in markets across North and South America

PURPOSE:
To move ingredients, components and finished products when/where they are needed, controlling through rotation, scheduling and efficiency of usage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load/unload trucks and receive ingredients.
- Provide ingredients and components to production workers as scheduled or as requested.
- Rotate all stock of ingredients and components by date and need for production schedule.
- Pull product in quantities to accurately match requisitions.
- Complete daily physical inventories as assigned.
- Input and track inventory levels on the computer system.
- Temper ingredients/components.
- Clean and organize storage areas.
- Maintain assigned work areas.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE preferred and can result in better earning potential.
- At least six months of prior experience working in a warehouse/Material Handler role.
- Experience in operating powered equipment and ability to safely operate powered equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel; ability to set up an Excel spreadsheet and manipulate the data within it.
- Strong mathematical skills; must pass in-house math aptitude test.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Prior experience working in a warehouse/material handling role.
- Willingness and availability to work frequent overtime.
- Strong record-keeping and listening skills.
- Must be able to fully communicate in English without assistance (read, write and converse) in order to receive written and verbal job and safety instructions, comprehend hazardous material labeling, and report inventory transactions.
