Sweet Tree Holdings is Looking for a Location Manager for one of our Maple Sugarbushes.
Job Description:
A Woods Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sugarbush they are assigned. This includes directing, supervising, scheduling, and training crew in their sugarbush during each season of woods work as well as communicating and coordinating strategically with the Director of Woods Operations, whom they report to and oversees all of sweet trees sugar woods. Team members in this roll have a vast knowledge of woods operations as well as the maple sap collection process and are able to operate a variety of maple production equipment. Woods operations can change at any given moment, but especially during sugar season, managers must be able to adapt quickly to change, have a strong ability to problem solve, and coordinate their team well. Ideal candidates should have some sugaring, management, and woods experience (maple, logging, forestry).
This job requires driving. Only applicants with a current drivers license will be considered for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and manage work schedules for team members.
- Ensure crew are getting work done in a safe and efficient manner.
- Check in with direct leadership frequently (Director of Woods Operations)
- Be able to keep records such as tap counts and report them to the Director of Woods Operations
- Have a strong understanding of leadership and training.
- Ensure quality of work is being upheld to Sweet Tree standard.
- Work with Human Resource Department if crew issues arise as well as be part of interviewing process for new candidates.
- Enforce Sweet Tree’s values and culture within their Sugarbush.
- Be able to problem solve quickly.
Requirements and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent (required)
- Basic understanding of Machine Operating (preferred)
- Forestry Backgrounds (required)
- 2 Years of Continuous Management Experience
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment MVR check
