Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of patients' medical histories, treatments, and progress.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Patient Assessment: Monitor and observe patients for progress, side effects from medications, and any changes in condition.
- Personal Care Support: Provide assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Medical Procedures: Administer prescribed medications, injections, and treatments such as enemas, wound care, and other routine medical tasks.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and comfort to patients, ensuring they feel cared for and heard during their treatment.
- Family Communication: Communicate with patients’ families to provide updates, advice, and comfort, while also delivering necessary care instructions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Proven experience in a similar role with a valid LPN license in the state of Virginia or West Virginia.
- Healthcare Standards Knowledge: Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices in patient care.
- Confidentiality Compliance: Ability to manage confidential patient information with discretion and in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Medical Terminology Proficiency: Strong understanding of medical terminology, ensuring clear and accurate communication in patient care.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
