Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for children. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, implementing curriculum, and fostering the development of young learners. A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the growth of each child is essential.

Duties

• Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote early childhood development.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to develop curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements.
• Provide care for toddlers in daycare settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Facilitate small group instruction in subjects such as math, promoting foundational skills and concepts.
• Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating findings to lead teachers.
• Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress and address any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of childhood development.

Requirements

• A background in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
• Experience or coursework in special education is a plus.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and lesson planning strategies.
• Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children are essential qualities for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
