What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Juvenile Probation Secretary position at Sweetwater County?
Note: This position is part-time at 29-hours per week.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONS IN THIS CLASS: Under supervision, performs a wide variety of clerical work in support of juvenile probation agents, including composing predisposition reports.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Essential Duties:
- Maintains files;
• Types, files and makes copies;
• Prepares and types letters, memos and reports;
• Transcribes and types correspondence and other material;
• Establishes and maintains file system, both manually and electronically;
• Operates Photocopier and makes copies;
• Operates a computer terminal and other office equipment;
• Searches for, verifies names, addresses, prepares, and mails notices and bills;
• Makes appointments and schedules meetings and events;
• Prepares and submits vouchers for payment;
• Provides information to the public, staff and others as needed;
• Prepares and sends notices as required;
• Prepares and types letters, memos and reports;
• Opens and closes office;
• Receives phone calls, clients, the public and visitors;
• Opens and routes incoming mail;
Other Duties: Performs related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; possession of a valid driver's license, with an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR).
