Spend this summer lifeguarding at a neighborhood pool near you! As a lifeguard for Sweetwater Pools, you will be responsible for ensuring all members and guests are safe in and around the pool, monitoring water chemistry, and cleanliness of the facility. Working as a lifeguard at Sweetwater is more than a summer job – its an opportunity to develop teamwork and leadership skills for your future. We provide substantial on-the-job training and our lifeguard alumni have gone on to become nurses, EMT’s, members of the military, Physician Assistants, and even Staffing Directors.
Pool Locations: We have pools all over the Charleston area
Age Requirement: Must be 15 for lifeguards and 14 for attendants.
Competitive Pay: Starting pay $13-$16 depending on pool and experience. We offer time and ½ for working holiday weekends plus bonus incentives throughout the summer.
Flexible Schedules – Seasonal Work – April to October
- Work 15-40 hours a week.
- Flexible work schedules – we schedule you around school, vacations, sports & extracurricular activities
- Shifts range from 4-7 hours a day depending on the pool
Training: We offer Starguard Lifeguard certification classes.
- Pre-season on-site pool training (Paid)
- In-service training (Paid)
Scholarship Opportunities: Each year Sweetwater gives up to 2,000 to help students towards their college tuition and reach their education goals.
Lifeguard Duties
- Be constantly alert, on the lookout, and ready to assist swimmers in trouble in the pool and on deck
- Enforce all club rules fairly, consistently and in a courteous manner
- Clean and maintain the pool deck
- Empty trash cans
- Clean and maintain restrooms
- Maintain pool chemistry, clarity, and cleanliness
- Complete daily checklists
- Additional duties and expectations as need
Salary : $13 - $16
