What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vendor Compliance Associate position at Sweetwater Sound?
Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of pro audio gear and musical equipment, is looking to add a Vendor Compliance Associate to growing Merchandising our team. In this role you will assist in ensuring our vendor partners are following our shipping guidelines as well as facilitating inbound damage reconciliation and vendor return requests. This role will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage millions of dollars in inbound receipts each day. This position reports to the Vendor Compliance Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand our Vendor Shipment Policy and assist in the identification and documentation of compliance errors
- Be a primary contributor in managing inbound shipping damage evaluation, process flow, and resolution.
- Assist in obtaining Return Authorizations and Vendor Credits for shipping discrepancies in a multi-DC environment
- Monitor requested Return Authorizations and ensure successful execution across both distribution centers
- Analyze purchase order under/over shipments and action as necessary
- Assist Replenishment and Accounts Payable teams regarding purchase order discrepancies
- Act as a liaison between our vendors and internal stakeholders
- Successful candidates are self-motivated, possess excellent email and phone communication skills, and understand the complexities of outbound/inbound shipping operations. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment is a must.
Qualifications:
Required
- 1-3 years of distribution, shipping and/or receiving experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced skills with MS Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to analyze inventory at line-item level to determine appropriate stock levels
Preferred
- Knowledge of 4D
- Experience with packaging and labeling requirements
- Experience in warehousing operations, logistics and inventory management
- Familiarity with musical instruments and pro audio equipment
