What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Member/Smoothie Maker position at Swell Cafe?

Looking for someone to work as part of a team in a cozy cafe. Must have proven experience in counter service and POS and have open availability Thursday - Monday 7am - 2pm, April - November. There are opportunities for advancement for those who are passionate about coffee and healthy choices.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with experience in POS systems, cash handling, and food service
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices in the restaurant industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a focus on time management
- Experience in food preparation and a background in culinary arts is a plus
- Proficiency in basic math for cash register transactions and upselling opportunities
- Previous experience in a kitchen setting or retail environment is beneficial
Customer Service
· Welcome and greet guests and provide friendly and informed hospitality while building relationships
· Ensure that all guests have a good experience .
· Answer questions about our food and beverages with knowledge and courtesy
Operations
· Continuously learn and educate yourself on the menu, coffee, and smoothies
· Operate POS system in an efficient, timely and accurate manner
· Maintain cash bank and follow established cash handling procedures
· Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guest tables quickly and accurately
· Deliver drink orders from the coffee bar to guest tables quickly and accurately
· Assist the cook with food prep and kitchen tasks
· Act as a contact point between baristas, cooks, and manager
· Carry dirty dishes from the dining room to the dish area.
· Clean and sanitize tables as guests leave
· Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required
· Assist in preparing recipes and garnishing. Wash and cut food products.
· Maintain the highest quality, consistent product standards.
· Inform the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies
· Follow all food handling sanitation standards and procedures
· Clean, organize, and maintain workstation
· Perform all opening and closing duties following the opening and closing schedule
Safety
· Wash your hands frequently
· Safely handle all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation.
· Use kitchen utensils, knives and equipment safely and in a responsible manner
· Report any employee accidents to the manager on duty
· Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
· Report potential safety hazards to the manager on duty
Ability
· Run errands, when needed.
· Be able to work overtime, as needed
· Work special events, as needed.
· Be available to attend staff meetings, as needed
· Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the cafe
· Be able to stand for 9 hours
· Be able to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
· Be able to speak, read and understand English
