About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Offsite Associate Director, SEO, to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced SEO professional who excels in both strategy and execution. As an Associate Director, SEO, you will guide the development and implementation of SEO strategies that focus on optimization outside of a clients website, ensuring other platforms, listings and related websites that link back to our clients’ are positioned to increase performance for agreed upon KPIs. You’ll also demonstrate your ability to weave offsite SEO activities into the overarching SEO strategy to achieve common goals. This role will be highly collaborative where you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven campaigns and measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a holistic understanding of SEO and ability to weave offsite SEO activities into the overarching SEO strategy to achieve common goals.
- Create comprehensive SEO strategies tailored to client objectives, including building domain authority, targeting multiple locations or service areas.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps in search performance.
- Collaborate with clients to establish goals and select clear KPIs for evaluating the success of SEO campaigns
- Manage and optimize listings including, but not limited to, Google Business Profiles (GBP) for clients.
- Ensure NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across all local citations and directories.
- Implement and maintain structured data (schema markup) for local businesses.
- Optimize on-page elements such as location-specific landing pages and metadata for local search intent.
- Develop content strategies to target specific search intents and demographics.
- Plan and execute link-building campaigns, focusing on high-quality, relevant links.
- Administer and update reporting dashboards and documents on various platforms like Google Looker Studio.
- Generate data driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Lead performance reporting presentations to client stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to ranking drops, GBP suspensions, or citation inaccuracies.
- Work closely with web developers, content creators, and paid search specialists and other subject matter experts to align efforts across digital channels.
- Mentor junior team members in SEO best practices and execution.
- Utilize SEO tools like Google Search Console, BrightLocal, Moz Local, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to manage and analyze local SEO campaigns.
- Utilize analytics and reporting tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Looker Studio.
- Implement tools and processes to manage and scale multi-location SEO strategies effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in SEO with a proven track record of success in multi-location or small business campaigns.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Google Business Profile (GBP) optimization, citation management, and local schema markup.
- Content Expertise: Experience in developing content and outreach campaigns.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO-specific platforms to analyze performance and inform strategy.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex SEO issues and provide actionable recommendations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present strategies and reports to clients and internal teams.
- Project Management: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Certifications (optional): Google Analytics, Local SEO certifications, or similar credentials are a plus.
