USD 367 Title I Facilitator/ Instructional Coach Job Description
Working under the direction of the Title I Program Manager, the Instructional Facilitator for Title I will serve as a collaborative leader in program development, coordination, and implementation in order to ensure success and to maximize achievement of the Title I program.The Instructional Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning. The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction. In order to meet this purpose, the Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred from an accredited college/university.
- Current Kansas State Teaching License.
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience in researched-based instructional practices.
Performance Responsibilities:
Title I
- Possesses a clear understanding of Title I law and regulations to assure that the Title I program maintains compliance with State and federal regulations.
- Collaborates and provides leadership to the Title I Program.
- Develops and facilitates professional learning activities regarding instruction, family involvement, school improvement, and other Title I related topics with central office leadership, administrators, and school-based teams.
- Provides support for instruction in Title I schools to facilitate student learning.
- Provides technical assistance to Title I schools through consultation, meeting attendance, and monitoring of program implementation.
- Collaborates with Title I Coordinator, school-based personnel, and community members to provide Title I services.
- Keeps abreast of current developments in areas of curriculum, pedagogy, learning theory, program organization, etc.
- Identifies and develops resources needed to implement Title I program initiatives.
Instructional Coach
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers.
- Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators.
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Demonstrate willingness to assume leadership positions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies that engage all students.
- Provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed.
- Provide support in analyzing student assessment data.
- Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data.
- Assist teachers with specific classroom activities when requested.
- Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies.
- Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum.
- Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and ability to monitor and enhance intervention programs by observing and meeting with teachers to maximize effectiveness.
- Serve as the state-approved mentor for new teachers within the building.
- Instruct and support teachers with curriculum software products, and classroom/curriculum related technologies. .
- Model lessons when appropriate.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to teachers.
- Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers.
- Work positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals.
- Assist with the development of district curriculum, instruction and assessments. Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers.
- Possess an understanding of when to contact administrators regarding issues of safety/ethics involving students in the classroom observed.
- Obtain advance approval of the Principal/Director of Teaching and Learning for unique activities and expenditures.
