Driving Instructor Responsibilities
- Preparing lessons that are tailored to students' needs.
- Providing instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle, and on-road regulations.
- Teaching practical skills related to all aspects of driving.
- Helping students to develop confidence in their driving skills.
- Gaining control of the vehicle during emergency situations.
- Calming students who are in distress.
- Documenting and reporting on students' progress.
- Informing students when they are ready to take the driver's test.
- Reporting all accidents to the Head of the driving school
Driving Instructor Requirements:
- Must be an Ex/Serving Police or EMS personnel
- Applicant must 21 years of age or over.
- Valid driving license without any suspensions or revocations on their license within 3 years of application and must not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor within last five years.
- Proven experience as a Driving Instructor would be highly desirable but not essential as all training is given and paid for.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. Bilingual preferred.
- Can work at least 16 hours a week with weekday, every other weekends and evenings flexibility.
- Training vehicle is provided for the successful candidate and company shirts.
Compensation
- Salary begins at $23.00/hour and after 3 months’ probation to $25.00/hour.
