Job Description: As a Public Adjuster Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced, licensed Public Adjusters to learn the ins and outs of the public adjusting profession. This position involves assisting in the management of property damage claims, conducting inspections, preparing claim documentation, and negotiating with insurance companies on behalf of policyholders. The apprenticeship will provide you with hands-on experience in the field, preparing you for licensure as a Florida Public Adjuster.
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Public Adjusters with the preparation, filing, and management of property damage claims.
- Participate in property damage assessments and help document findings for insurance claims.
- Communicate with policyholders, contractors, and insurance companies to gather relevant information and resolve claims.
- Help prepare reports, estimates, and other documentation necessary for claims processing.
- Learn and participate in the negotiation process to secure fair compensation for clients.
- Complete the necessary training to become a licensed Florida Public Adjuster.
- Maintain organized records and follow up on claims as required.
- Travel locally within Southwest Florida for field assessments and claims work.
Qualifications:
- Must reside in or near Southwest Florida (e.g., Lee, Collier, or Sarasota counties).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required).
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in insurance or public adjusting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to travel locally within the Southwest Florida region for fieldwork.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet the requirements to obtain a Florida Public Adjuster license (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in insurance, construction, or property damage is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to work with various software programs and documentation tools.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage with potential for performance-based bonuses and commissions after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
