Description

As a Corporate Tax Accountant, you will ensure proper accounting of revenue and cost recognition, daily / monthly reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and multi-company consolidation. You will impact our business by providing accounting support to optimize efficiency and maintain accurate records to inform financial decision-making.

Responsibilities :

Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits
Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Demonstrates a high HQ (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity

Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience : 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive industry or a related field. Reynolds & Reynolds experience a plus.

Skills :

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Strong communication skills are a must

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and QuickBooks

Demonstrated success in building consensus and working in a team environment

Ability to complete multiple projects on time with varying timelines and priorities

Physical Requirements :

Sitting : The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.

Standing and Walking : There may be times when the accountant needs to stand, walk around the office, or attend meetings.

Reaching and Bending : The accountant may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment.

Lifting : Occasionally, there might be a need to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment. Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds.
